Our Mission
In The Works is dedicated to uplifting Kiwi Artists and their original works by creating inspiring programmes, workshops, and productions. We aim to dismantle the notion that success in performing arts requires artists to leave Aotearoa. We want to empower Kiwis by promoting the impression that Kiwi Theatre is comparably meaningful as international works.
Our Journey

In the works was first formed in 2024 as a way to support the original works of its founders Sammy Hook and Harry Maxwell. After writing their debut musical Afloat: 20 years after The Rise, Sammy and Harry connected with numerous Kiwi creators who wanted guidance on creating original works of their own. Wanting to inspire and connect with more Kiwi artists, Sammy and Harry are turning In the works into a platform that supports other Kiwis and their creative endeavours.
