Dancing with Dari
On January 24th, In The Works is holding a one-day dance workshop, led by Dari Kotlarsky. This workshop focuses on storytelling through movement and using choreography to establish dynamic and style.
This workshop will consist of 2 sessions: 9:30am-12:30pm and 1pm-3:45pm. Two different dances will be taught , both choreographed by Dari, one at each session. Participants are welcome to attend both sessions if they wish. This workshop is open to participants aged 16+, with a cost of $8 for each session.
Past Workshops
Developing an Original Musical
5 new original songs from a musical in development were learnt and performed by 22 young performers over a 6 hour day. Performers got to experience the creative process of writing a musical and adapting it to fit the capabilities of live performers.
This was a free workshop open to anyone.

Refining Music
After workshopping their music with a group of performers, Composers Sammy Hook and Harry Maxwell have made changes to the score of their new work. This workshop went further in depth on how to refine music to best tell a story, whilst complimenting a performer's strengths.
This workshop featured working with instrumentalists to realise compositional goals.
