Zines are a wonderful form of self expression and have been used for decades to showcase people's artwork and opinions on political matters. You can make a zine about anything! Here is how to make a Zine using only one piece of paper.

Use this template to create your Zine! It's easy! Either print it out, or open the template on Canva using the links to the left. Create your design on the template either digitally, or by drawing. Many Zines use 3D elements such as stickers, magazine cutouts, pressed flowers, and stamps, so get creative!

Constructing your Zine

If you created a digital design, print it out on A4 paper with no borders. You may need to change your settings to make it borderless.

It's folding time!

Lay your zine out flat and fold in half with the design facing outward. Fold in half again, and again, until you can only see one page of your zine.

Unfold your zine fully. Fold in half once. Cut along the cut line. Unfold your zine again. Fold in half, but length-wise this time. Gently push the paper together until it comes together. Press down on your previously made fold-lines to reinforce them.

Your Zine is complete!
